All-India Advanced Training Centre in Computers (2008)
MNB–TCS centre grooming visually challenged learners in MS-CIT and advanced skills for corporates, banks, and businesses.
Computer Centre (2006)
Basic computing and MS-CIT with screen readers (JAWS), covering Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet; first MS-CIT centre in Mumbai for visually challenged persons.
Self-employment schemes
Mini & Maxi schemes provide in-kind equipment and materials—mills, candle/envelope units, shops, tea-vending, stationery, etc.—so trainees can run sustainable local businesses.
Subsidised hostel (2001)
Affordable temporary accommodation for visually impaired men relocating to Mumbai while they start their careers.
Vocational training (1956)
Four-year residential programme with weaving, handloom, tailoring, cane work, paper plates, candles, hangers—pocket money and stipends during training.
Medical & recreation
Residents receive low-vision treatment from a qualified optometrist and have recreational facilities: musical instruments, chess, carrom, and a home gym.
In-kind support
Assistance is provided in kind—not cash—to set up sustainable livelihoods, matching each trainee’s capability and local opportunities.
